남북 평화번영의 심장, 한반도 메가리전

The Heart of Inter-Korean Peace and Prosperity, the Hanbando(Korean Peninsula) Mega Region

남북 평화 번영 시대를 열어 가기 위해서는 남북 공동의 비전 구상과 공유가 필요하다. 한반도 메가리전은 남과 북이 함께 성장하고 발전할 수 있는 한반도의 새로운 성장 엔진이다. 남북한 접경 지역의 한강하구와 경기만 연안지역은 남북 경제통합과 협력의 실험장이자 한반도 메가리전의 중핵 지대이다. 본 세션에서는 한반도 메가리전이 성공하기 위해서 당장 추진할 수 있는 일과 남북이 머리를 맞대어 공유하고 협의해야 할 아젠더를 발굴하고, 실행의 방향을 제시하며 서해경제 공동특구, 한강하구와 서해 연안의 남북한의 항구와 수상 교통망 구축 방안, 수도권과 평양권의 폭넓은 교류를 위해 준비해야 할 아젠더 등을 제안하고자 한다.

Ushering in an era of inter-Korean peace and prosperity requires the two sides to establish and share a common vision. The Korean Peninsula Mega Region is a new economic initiative envisioning the shared growth and development of the South and North. Under the plan, the Han River estuary and the Gyeonggi Bay area along the inter-Korean border will be the key test bed for economic integration and cooperation between the two Koreas. This session will discuss and suggest recommendations to make the initiative a success. They include immediate actions to take and implementation directions for the initiative; the agenda that South and North Korea should share and discuss; measures to build a water transport network connecting the West Sea special economic zone, the Han River estuary, and ports along the West coast; and other preparatory agenda items to promote far-reaching interactions between the Seoul and Pyongyang Metropolitan Areas.
