Contact and Communication Between the Residents of the South and the North

남북 통합의 첫걸음은 남북한의 주민이 만나 서로를 알고 이해해가는 것이다. 문화역사 교류와 관광은 남북한이 정치를 떠나 자연스럽게 만나고 소통하는 장을 제공한다는 의미에서 중요하다. 본 세션에서는 남과 북이 장기간 분단의 장벽을 극복하고 신뢰를 회복할 수 있도록 남북한 주민 간 만남과 교류를 활성화하는 방안에 대해 논의한다. 지금까지의 남북 교류 경험을 되돌아보고 보다 자유롭고 진전된 남북 문화역사 교류와 관광 협력의 방식을 제시하고자 한다.

The first step towards inter-Korean integration is for residents of the two sides to meet and understand each other. Cultural and historical exchanges and tourism are important as they can provide a platform for South and North Koreans to meet and communicate naturally with each other without any political motives. The purpose of this session is to discuss ways to revitalize mutual contact and interaction between the residents of the South and the North to ensure that the two sides overcome the barrier of the long-standing division and rebuild mutual trust. We will look back on the experiences of inter-Korean exchanges and suggest a more flexible and advanced form of collaboration through inter-Korean cultural and historical exchanges and tourism.
